Ashtanga Yoga for Life with David Williams

Saturday, June 24th, and/or Sunday, June 25th, 9:30 am – 12 pm

A rare and wonderful opportunity to study yoga with the man who brought Ashtanga out of India! David’s aim is to help each individual experience the most enjoyable, energizing yoga practice possible. The person most likely to practice tomorrow is the one who enjoys his/her practice the most today. Doing asanas and pranayama with David will enable one to develop a practice that one can continue enjoying for life. David’s goal is for each student to leave class feeling better than when he or she arrived, totally relaxed, but energized. Yoga should relieve pain, not become a new source of suffering. After more than 45 years of uninterrupted daily yoga practice, David’s first rule is, “If it hurts, you are doing it wrong!” David’s workshop can be enjoyed by people of all ages, particularly seniors.

Workshops include lecture, pranayama and primary series from the deep ancestry of Ashtanga Yoga.

*NOTE: Content of the two workshops will differ.
Cost: $45 for 1 workshop, $80 for both

Getting Unstuck Using Yoga’s Ancient Teachings with Maetreyii Ma

Monday, June 26th, 7:45-9 pm

We all have attitudes, beliefs and behaviors that keep us stuck in ways that do not work for us. To find happiness, love and joy in our lives we need to find ways to change these conditioned patterns and move to new levels of freedom and unconditional love. Yoga’s ancient teachings give us practical ways to bring our meditation and our yoga off the mat and transform our lives.

About Maetreyii:

Maetreyii Ma Nolan is a licensed transpersonal psychologist and an ordained yogic minister, or Acharya. She teaches traditional yogic meditation, philosophy and the ancient wisdom teachings of yoga. She is also an ERYT 500 yoga teacher and a yogic therapist.

Maetreyii Ma began her spiritual journey in 1969 when she took diiksha, or initiation into yogic meditation practices. From those practices unfolded profound experiences of divine presence and love, manifesting through the inner Guru. Those deep and transforming experiences over the years have formed a body of inner knowledge and teachings that inspire her to share with others, as best she is able, the incredible love and divine union that awaits in the heart of yoga.

From the depths of her experience she has authored a number of books on spiritual life, the latest being on yogic practices for living in the world. It explores the first two limbs of Asthanga Yoga, Yama and Niyama, giving an in depth view of how to transform attitudes, beliefs and actions to build a life that brings happiness and is in harmony with spirit. This book gives practical teachings that enable students to bring their yoga off of the mat and into their lives.
