Dharma Talk with Tulku Sangye Tenzin Rinpoche
June 13 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Join us for a dharma talk and question and answer session with our guest Tulku Sangye Tenzin Rinpoche. We couldn’t be happier to welcome Tulku back to Eugene Yoga for the second year in a row. Tulku was born in Tibet to a nomadic family and was recognized at the age of five as the reincarnation of Jamtul Sherab Woeser Rinpoche of Taksar Zanying Monastery, Kham Nangchen. His enthronement ceremony was conducted by His Holiness Drubwang Penor Rinpoche at Bodhgaya. He commenced his monastic education at Namdroling Monastery, where he completed the preliminary practices of the Great Perfection and underwent a rigorous nine-year study of Buddhist philosophy at the Namdroling Ngagur Nyingma Institute, culminating in the attainment of a Master’s degree in 2011. From 2011 to 2016, he served as a lecturer in Buddhist philosophy at Namdroling and Zangdock Palri monasteries in India. In 2024, he achieved a master’s degree in religious studies and philosophy at the University of Virginia, where he is currently pursuing a PhD, backed by over 20 years of training and teaching experience in Buddhist philosophy, alongside practical engagement. This will is a special opportunity to be in the presence of someone who has led such a rich and rewarding life.
