The Bhagavad Gita with Warren Kluber
June 14 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
This four-part series is a group study of the most prominent book in the yoga tradition, the Bhagavad Gita. In a country riven by civil war, prince Arjuna looks out at the battlefield, and turns to his friend Krishna for advice. What should he do, when every action has mixed consequences, and there is no clear way of avoiding calamity? We will read the book over the course of the series, with each class exploring a different theme. Sessions will include an hour-long yoga sequence, a short guided meditation, five minutes of writing on a prompt, and about 45 minutes of group discussion. Along with looking back to ancient yoga philosophy and practices, we will bring the book into the present, asking how we can show up to the challenges of our tender and trembling world. We will see where the arrows of Arjuna’s questions and Krishna’s answers land in our own lives and times.
