Somatic Expeditions – Your Body Knows the Way

Are you ready to become better at what you do, stay centered in the midst of chaos, and feel like life is more meaningful, all at the same time?

Eugene Yoga teacher Anne “Ahni” Bonner has created Somatic Expeditions, a virtual journey through the body into expanded awareness, to connect with what’s alive and create new possibilities! Off the mat, Ahni is a mediator, attorney, somatic artist and Certified Presence-Based® Coach.

During this FREE virtual event, Ahni and 25 guests will take you on an exploration into exciting and innovative applications of body-based awareness. The work is inspiring, meaningful and fun!

Somatic Expeditions will weave together conversations and practices that will support and expand possibilities for your work and life. The virtual journey will take place over five days, from October 6th-10th, 2021.

You’ll receive daily emails with access to the interviews scheduled for that day. The interviews are pre-recorded, and you’ll have access to them for 48 hours after they air. There will also be a replay period, to give you plenty of time to see any interviews you don’t want to miss!

Ahni has poured her heart into this event, from creation to publication, and is offering it at no charge to Eugene Yoga students because she believes so deeply in this work. Reserve your spot by contacting [email protected].

And goings…

Roxanne is taking a short hiatus from teaching but, thankfully, will stay in her role as our Operations Coordinator. I could not have kept Eugene Yoga alive without her, and I am so grateful that she will stay with us while pursuing other passions.

Shanti is taking extended personal leave but expects to return to teaching later this fall.

Stephanie leaves with our very best wishes as she pursues her heart’s desire to dive more deeply into her photography and digital art.

108 Sun Salutations: A Winter Solstice Event with Erin Moberg

Each year, the Winter Solstice invites us to embrace new beginnings and perspectives while releasing energy and emotions that no longer serve us. Though we can practice Sun Salutations at any time of year, practicing 108 Sun Salutations is traditionally reserved for the transition between seasons. The number 108 also shows up in sacred and ancient yogic texts in many contexts, and the distance between the Sun and Earth is roughly 108 times the Sun’s diameter.

Join Erin at Eugene Yoga’s Downtown studio to heat and detoxify the body through this practice. She’ll break down the basics of a Sun Salute, and then you’ll flow together on the breath. Not sure if a 108 practice is for you? Come as you are and find rest when you need!

Last Call for Mat Pickup!

We have over 100 mats stored at our South Eugene studio, and we can’t continue to take up that much space in a public hallway. Regular practitioners are welcome to store their mats at South; all others mush be removed by the end of October. All unclaimed mats will be donated to local schools and non-profits, or sold to benefit our scholarship programs.
